A North Somerset author has released a chart-topping novel which has sold more than 10,000 copies in just three months.

Fay Keenan, of Winscombe, released debut book The Second Chance Tea Shop in March and has received rave reviews and 13,000 sales since.

The book had a free release weekend, and it peaked at number three in the Amazon Kindle free charts.

The romance novel is based on a fictional village in Somerset, but features many locations along the Strawberry Line.

She said: “I’m over the moon to see it doing so well – it’s lovely to know readers have engaged with the story and its characters.

“Book two of the series will be out sometime next year, and there will be at least one more book to follow.

“I’d love to keep writing novels set in Somerset as it has such a rich and passionate heritage. It’s a county that’s ripe for love stories.”
