AN APPEAL for witnesses has been issues by police after a motorcyclist died in Lympsham yesterday (Sun).

The crash happened at about 3.35pm at the junction between Brean Road and Rectory Way. A Mercedes car pulled out of Brean Road and collided with a motorcycle, which was travelling along Rectory Way.

The motorcyclist, from Devon, received treatment but was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have confirmed a 72-year-old man from North Somerset has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has now been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary have issued an appeal for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who was in the Lympsham area at the time of the collision who may have information to help the police investigation.

Anyone able to help is asked to contact the collision investigation unit on the force number 101.
