WITNESSES are being sought after a woman was seriously assaulted last night (Thurs).

The incident happened between 10.15pm and midnight at Blagdon Lake.

An investigation has begun and there is now an increased police presence in the area.

The police are keen to speak to two men who may have information.

They are described as white, in their late 20s to early 30s and with dark hair.

One was taller than the other and had glasses on, while they both spoke with local accents.

High visibility patrols will remain in the area while the local beat manager will be relaying information to the community.

Residents are asked to remain vigilant and report anyone acting suspiciously in the area.
