A WOMAN escaped a fire at her house in Locking last night (Thurs).

Three fire engines were called to Old Banwell Road at 6.44pm after a small blaze broke out in a bedroom.

A curtain, which had been left over a lamp, caught alight and the woman, who was in the room at the time, closed the door to contain the fire and smoke before calling the fire service. No one was injured.
