Woman freed from crash vehicle

FIREFIGHTERS were called to free a woman after her vehicle hit a tree.

FIREFIGHTERS were called to free a woman after her vehicle hit a tree.

The crash happened this morning (Sun) just before 7am on the A38 near Rooksbridge and East Brent.

Crews from Burnham, Cheddar and Weston and a rescue tender from Weston were sent out to the incident.

When they arrived, they found a female in the vehicle who was not physically trapped but was suffering from suspected spinal and neck injuries.

Hydraulic equipment was used to take off the roof of the vehicle and remove the woman.

She was then left with ambulance crews and it is thought she was taken to hospital.
