Woman hit by train 'improving' in hospital

THE condition of a woman hit by a train in Worle on Sunday evening is said to be improving in hospital.

British Transport Police said it will speak to the 34-year-old today to try to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

A spokesman also said that her family are aware of what has happened.

Paramedics treated the woman near Worle Parkway train station on Sunday at about 7.15pm, where she was found conscious and breathing but with several trauma injuries, including to her head.

She was then taken to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol by ambulance.

The train involved was the 3.30pm Penzance to Leeds service.
