Woman hurt in 40ft gorge fall

A WOMAN suffered potentially life-changing injuries after falling about 40 feet from the top of Cheddar Gorge.
Avon and Somerset Search and Rescue attended the incident on Tuesday at about 2.30pm.
Police closed the road while an air ambulance and RAF Search and Rescue Helicopter attended the scene.
An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesman said the woman suffered possible spinal injuries.
She was treated at the scene and taken by an RAF Sea King helicopter to Southmead Hospital.
Avon and Somerset Search and Rescue was stood down at 6.30pm.
