A BERROW woman has been taken aback after raising more than £1,900 for an eating disorder charity with a sponsored headshave.

Ness Holbrow was raising money for the Beat organisation, having suffered with eating disorders for more than 30 years.

She had set a target of £1,000 for the charity, but has almost doubled that figure with more donations still to come.

She said: “They are a great charity and I wanted to make a positive out of a negative. It has been an amazing total and people keep saying it suits me – I might even keep my hair like this for a while.”
