Woman 'seriously' injured after fall from horse in Weston-super-Mare

A woman has been airlifted to hospital this afternoon (Monday) after she fell from a horse and cart in Weston-super-Mare.

Police were called to the incident, at around 2.30pm, in Bleadon Hill near Ferncourt Farm.

The woman has suffered serious injuries and has been airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

The police also added the horse bolted after the incident but was stopped shortly after.

As a result, Bleadon Hill has been closed both ways between the Leighton Crescent, Roman Road and Celtic Way junctions.
