A WOMAN was sexually assaulted in an attack at a North Somerset beauty spot on Thursday.

The female victim was assaulted at Blagdon Lake between 10.15pm and midnight, and police are keen to speak to two men about the attack.

Although the force launched an immediate investigation into the attack, the force has reissued its appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Since Thursday Blagdon has seen an increased police presence, both to identify witnesses and provide reassurance to villagers.

The two men police want to speak to are both white, in their late 20s to early 30s, and have dark hair.

One is taller than the other and one had glasses on.

Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen strangers in the village or unusual vehicles in the area on Thursday.

Residents are being asked to remain vigilant and report anyone acting suspiciously to the police.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact the police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
