FIREARMS police and the force helicopter were put on alert in Portishead after reports of youths in the woods in possession of 'illegal weapons'.A member of the public rang the police at around 1.30pm on August 31 after spotting three youths with crossbows near Weston Woods.The police helicopter and the force's firearms units and local officers attended the scene to discover three youths playing with toy crossbows.A police spokesman said: "The three youths were taken home by officers where their parents were given some words of advice.
