WORK has begun on the next phase of a £400million housing development.
St Modwen Homes has started building 150 more properties as part of its Locking Parklands development project.
This new phase – called The Meadows – follows the completion of 70 new homes earlier this year.
The development will consist of a mixture of two and three-bedroom houses and two-bedroom apartments. Four-bedroom homes will be made available in the future.
Of the 150 new homes, 30 per cent will be affordable housing.
Robin Smith, technical director of St Modwen Homes, said: “Following strong sales for the first phase of homes at Locking Parklands, we’re pleased to be moving forward into the new year with the delivery of more much-needed new homes for Weston.
“With 66 families already living at the community, we are now focusing on developing properties that will accommodate first time buyers, family-starters and downsizers.”
