A head girl from Worle has been volunteering in areas affected by poverty in Africa.

Iona Kempton, who goes to Worle Community School, travelled to Chikwawa in Malawi.

She said: “I love the people of Africa and the work I did.

“Playing with the children and helping out with the medical facilities was all so rewarding.”

Iona, aged 15, hopes to go on similar trips in the future.
