A nine-year-old girl from Worle has raised more than £800 for a Weston-super-Mare charity after having her head shaved.

Madison Gillett, who attends Mendip Green Primary School, decided she wanted to do something for charity, and
chose to have her hair shaved off.

Madison’s mum Lydia said: “She has got a heart of gold and wants to help anyone she can in any way she can.

“She came up with the idea all by herself.”

Headlines, in Worle, did the cut and shave for free and has sent Madison’s hair off to be made into a wig by the Little Princess Trust.

Madison has also managed
to raise more than £800 for Weston Hospicecare – almost 10 times as much as she hoped to donate.

Ahead of the haircut, she visited the hospice with community fundraiser Rachel Mansfield.

Donations to Madison’s fund can be made online at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/moghairdonation
