Traffic delays after person hit by a van this morning

A pedestrian was hit by a van in Worle this morning (Tuesday).

The incident took place at the junction of High Street and Tavistock Road at 11.30am and caused traffic delays in the surrounding area this afternoon.

Two police cars and an ambulance attended the scene.

A spokesman for the South West Ambulance Service said: “We were called today at around 11.30am to attend a collision between a van and a pedestrian on the junction of High Street and Tavistock Road.

“A female patient was driven by ambulance to Weston General Hospital with a suspected leg injury.”

Delays are expected at both ends of the High Street, affecting traffic conditions on Milton Road and New Bristol Road.
