WORLE woman Donna Pyett is tackling the London to Paris cycle ride to raise money for a charity which helps disadvantaged youths.
The 51-year-old is taking on the challenge in May next year in aid of Promise Mentoring and Advocacy Service, which Donna volunteers for.
The service offers mentoring and advice to vulnerable and disadvantaged young adults and children aged between five and 19 years old.
Donna has already secured funding for the trip, so every penny raised will go towards the charity.
She has organised a barn dance next month to raise extra cash for the service. The dance will be held at the Coronation Halls in Coronation Road, Bleadon, on July 11 from 7-11pm, and will include the Highly Strung Community Band and the Perfect Cure Duo.
There will also be a raffle, auction and a bar.
Tickets, cost £12 and include a ploughman’s supper. To buy tickets or to donate a raffle prize, call Donna on 07730 487554
