The trustee team behind one of Worle’s best-loved buildings has supported Weston Hospicecare’s Comfort & Care appeal by buying a bed for the charity’s in-patient unit.
The appeal aims to raise more than £50,000 to replace outdated beds, chairs and mattresses to improve and modernise the care provided to patients.
Worle Village Club – which manages the building currently occupied by Worle Century Club – handed over £2,682 for the cause.
The money will pay for a specialist bed to enable patients to adjust their positions.
Club trustees Ian Porter, Terry Tozer and Graham Clark handed over the cheque, and said they were pleased to support Weston Hospicecare after making previous donations to other local causes.
The group has also supported Weston General Hospital, and contributed to schools, churches and sports clubs throughout the area.
