A Worle woman will dress up as an elf everyday throughout December to raise money for a mental health charity.

Louise Parslow will become the mental elf for mental health, taking on different challenges each day, such as being rescued by Newfoundland dogs and arrested by police, and has raised more than £1,000 for Mind.

She said: “Mental health illness is very close to my heart as not only have I suffered myself, but my daughter has struggled too.

“I think it is much more acceptable today, and is beginning to be accepted as an illness rather than a taboo subject.

“It happens, it’s real, but you can’t see it and sometimes it happens to the most unlikely of us.

Louise will abseil down the cliff edge at Uphil Boat Yard on Monday at 2pm.
