PEOPLE are being urged to come forward and nominate an individual or organisations that have gone out of their way to help raise the profile of Portishead.Portishead in Bloom, in conjunction with Pegasus Retirement Homes, is looking for a worthy winner of the John Daws Pegasus Cup.The annual competition, organised in memory of Portishead in Bloom supporter and local councillor John Daws, is open to any individual or organisation that members of the public feel has made a lasting impression on the town, either through a single good deed or an on-going commitment.Last year's winners were John and Edwina Tovey who were awarded the cup for their outstanding contribution to the Portishead Horticultural Society and Portishead Flower Show. The cup and a cheque for £100 will be presented to the winner at the annual general meeting of Portishead in Bloom.Anyone who knows a worthy recipient should send a nomination letter of no more than 200 words along to the Pegasus John Daws Cup, Town Council office, Folk Hall, High Street, Portishead, BS20 6PR by October 1.
