WORSHIPPERS at a church in Uphill have been travelling back in time to interview characters from the Bible.Once a month, Alan Brown, from St Nicholas' Church, turns into his alter ego, Dr Y, and with his wife Gail and Modem the robotic dog he travels back in time to interview famous characters from the old and new testament. They get their family and friends to dress up as biblical characters and interview them on video camera to play to children who attend the church.Dr Y is based on Dr Who, and he travels through time in a magical camper van. So far Alan and Gail have interviewed Adam and Eve after Eve ate the apple in the Garden of Eden, David after he beat Goliath and the shepherds and wise men at Christmas. On February 3, they will be talking to the little boy who gave Jesus his fish and a loaf of bread, which Jesus turned into a meal for 5,000 people. Gail said: "We talk to the characters and ask them what God has done for them. We then talk to the children about how the character's situation relates to the present time and we play some games. "It's very popular, more and more children are coming and bringing their friends."The special children's service is held in the church hall every first Sunday of the month from 10.30-11.30am.
