Bleadon's Sugarcraft Club

A village club is desperately looking for new members to join its ranks.

The Bleadon Sugarcraft Club was set up by two Westonians as a way to bring together like-minded people who share an interest in cake decorating.

Chairman Sue Dennelly said: “I have been a member of the group since it started and I came in as a beginner.

“You learn a lot from the club and there are a lot of aspects to it, such as modelling, decorations for the side of cakes and how to make more realistic pieces like flowers.”

The club is currently made up of 15 members but Sue has said they will need another 10 to make it viable.

The club will be meeting at Bleadon Coronation Hall, in Coronation Road, on June 22. Sue will lead a workshop on creating fantasy toadstools from 7pm.

Membership is £25 for the whole year and the club meets once a month.
