Yatton and Congresbury Wildlife Action Group (YACWAG) saw scores of people flock to Stowey Reserve to celebrate the organisation’s 20th anniversary event.

Families gathered to get stuck into nature-based activities put on by the charity, where more than 100 people took part in the fun.

Youngsters got a close look at water wildlife, dissected owl pellets and created sculptures from the bones of voles, mice and shrews to take home as a souvenir.

Others made badges from natural materials at the Nature As Your Neighbour get-together on Bank Holiday Monday.

Chairman of YACWAG Tony Moulin said: "It was a brilliant day and we were so pleased to see so many young faces eager to learn about their natural environment.

"This event was timely as it coincided with the world's leading scientists' report on biodiversity loss.

"Our charity is able to demonstrate small groups can make a difference."
