Children from Yatton Federated Schools proudly joined a fancy dress procession through the streets as part of the annual fiesta on Saturday.

This year’s event featured an animation theme and the costumes were as impressive as ever, with children dressed up as characters from popular films such as Star Wars and Despicable Me, as well as TV shows like The Simpsons.

Characters from classic stories by author Roald Dahl could also be spotted amongst the crowds, with Fantastic Mr Fox and Matilda taking part too.

The carnival started at Cherry Grove and went through High Street before finishing at the school playing fields, where families enjoyed a barbecue, fames, stalls and live music throughout the afternoon.
