A pony was rescued yesterday (Saturday) by a team of experts after it got trapped in a ditch at a farm in Yatton.

Avon Fire and Rescue has confirmed fire crews from Yatton were called to Stowey Road at 8.52am and were joined by a specialist animal rescue team.

The pony was trapped in a water-filled ditch up to its neck and the crews had to work quickly but carefully to get the animal out safely.

The fire service has confirmed vets also helped during the rescue and the animal was treated after it was rescued.
