Yatton’s Royal British Legion branch will soon relaunch.
The charity is set to return to the village in time for the centenary celebrations of the end of World War One.
Efforts to revive the organisation have intensified in recent months and the legion will hold an open evening on Monday.
Chairman Simon Reakes said: “The Yatton branch closed about six years ago and since then it came under the umbrella of Backwell who were very supportive and welcoming. The Poppy Appeal has continued each year with the collectors helping to make this a great success.
“There will be a service at St Mary’s Church on Remembrance Sunday followed by a ceremony at Rock Road with the laying of wreaths, followed by lunch.”
The open evening will start at 7.30pm on Monday at the rugby club. The legion will officially relaunch with a carvery, at the club, on October 28 at 1.30pm.
Tickets, priced £12, are available on 01934 830133.
