VOLUNTEERS are needed to decide how much councillors are paid.
North Somerset Council is creating a body to review the current allowance scheme for councillors.
Anyone with an interest in local government and a connection to the region can apply to be on the panel, although councillors or council employees are excluded.
The council currently pays 61 councillors a basic allowance of £8,136, although some members receive extra for their roles in scrutiny panels or committees.
The seven executive members also get an extra £15,500 per year.
To apply for the panel, email your name, address and work background to firstname.lastname@example.org with two referees by 5pm on January 30.
