More than 200 children took part in six days of events for this year's Weston Junior Arts Festival and work is already underway to expand the festival for 2018.

Talented youngsters from Weston-super-Mare competed in classes in strings, wind and brass, and piano.

The children performed in front of specially-picked adjudicators as well as an audience of their peers, parents and teachers.

Prize-winners were presented with their trophies at a gala concert held on Sunday at Victoria Methodist Church, in Station Road.

Plans are already in the pipeline for next year’s event, and the festival’s organisers intend to widen the categories so there will be some classes for adults to enter.
