Young debators put forward some well-argued ideas at the Wrington Vale Rotary Club's annual Junior Youth Speaks competition.

The competition, held in the Thatchers Cider conference room in Greenhill Road, Sandford, saw five teams from Banwell, Burrington and Wrington primary schools debate a range of topics, including unhealthy food, voting, sports in primary schools and first aid.

The competition was won by the Wrington team, which consisted of Max Walker, Saffron Buckler and Elliot Browning.
