SIXTY children helped to create a striking mosaic as part of a revamp on a Weston estate.

The finishing touches to Aller Parade shops on the Oldmixon have finally been completed with the installation of the colourful artwork.

Youngsters from Oldmixon Primary School worked with company Mosaic Madness and spent five days designing and creating the piece, which includes images of the Grand Pier and the school’s logo.

A total facelift of the parade was completed in May this year, which was funded by the South Ward Neighbourhood Management Partnership.

Improvements include new benches, planting, paving and trees, as well as a new Golden Dandelion sculpture, reflecting the history of the estate and its link with aeroplanes.
