Children living with disabilities, life-limiting conditions and bereavement enjoyed a day of ‘wonderful memories’ at Bristol Airport this week.
Young people aged four to 16, from the Reach, CLIC Sargent and Ronald McDonald House charities, visited the airport on Sunday and spent the day with pilots, explored light aircraft and rally cars and also met inspirational Airbus employee Andy Lewis – who overcame losing a limb in a road accident to become a pilot.
Among those invited to spend the day at the airport was CLIC Sargent-nominated Jedd Wiltshire, who was left with a 16th birthday to remember – and a cake to match.
His mother, Wendy, said: “We would like to thank everyone involved for making things feel normal for a day and putting the biggest smile I have seen in a long on Jedd’s face – the day has created wonderful memories and stories of a milestone we did not think we would see.”
