Your chance to have a say on police use of force, tasers and body-worn cameras

PUBLISHED: 19:00 18 March 2017

The use of police tasers and stop and search will be monitored by a new panel, which is recruiting for members.

The panel will study police powers at Avon and Somerset Constabulary, including body-worn cameras and the use of force by police.

The group will provide feedback to officers and the police and crime commissioner Sue Mountstevens.

She said: “My vision for this new panel is to invite people in to monitor how the police are using their discretionary powers and ensure they are using them proportionately and fairly.

“We all have a right to be treated equally and with respect and this is no different when it comes to interactions with the police.”

Volunteers are being sought to sit on the panel.
