MUSICIANS from across North Somerset and Sedgemoor will be competing for a chance to perform at Glastonbury 2010.

The first Battle of the Bands competition was held last year and is now back by popular demand.

This year the contest is set to be bigger and better - with first place winning a slot at the prestigious Somerset festival.

The 2010 Live and Unsigned Competition will launch at The Louisiana in Bristol on January 22 from 2-3pm.

Kieron Pepper from The Prodigy and last year's winners The Fuel will be attending along with the police assistant chief constable for Avon and Somerset Rod Hansen, who is leading the project on behalf of the constabulary.

More details of how to enter will be revealed in the coming weeks.
