People from the area will have the opportunity to ask about education and the looming General Election in a question and answer session on Wednesday at Hans Price Academy, in Marchfields Way.

The hustings has been organised by the North Somerset National Union of Teachers (NUT) and will start at 7.30pm.

Division secretary for the district’s NUT, Jon Reddiford, said: “Planned cuts to school funding, the SATS debacle from last year, grammar schools and teacher workload all mean education needs to be one of the key issues in this general election campaign.

“We would be delighted to welcome anyone who has an interest in education to this question time.”
