A TEENAGER was attacked with an iron bar during a skirmish between gangs in a Weston park.Police say about 10 youngsters aged about 15 started fighting in Grove Park on the afternoon of April 10, although one eyewitness told the Mercury as many as 40 youths were involved. One boy was struck round the head with an iron bar during the fight, but was not seriously injured. Another young man was arrested and released on police bail.Sgt Dave Holtby said: "There were a group of lads from some of the town's estates who met up in a chance encounter and decided to have a fight."John Horler, owner of the Cafe in the Park, said: "There were two to three groups charging about and chasing each other with sticks."It looked like a playfight to me, but someone called the police and they arrived with a riot van and two police cars. Half the youths ran away and half stayed. I think the police let them go.
