YULETIDE celebrations started early in Shipham as residents gathered for a festive bonanza.
Shipham Preschool held the event in the village hall and residents who passed through the doors were treated to a whole host of delights.
Young entrepreneurs Scott Virgo and Jess Hemmings sold their collection of jewellery, while youngster Emma Winby, aged five, sold her Christmas cards she designed herself, after winning a competition.
Santa pulled up his sleigh to make a special visit to children in the village and youngsters were able to meet him in his grotto.
Stalls at the bonanza included cakes, alcohol, rugs, fabric, sweets and chocolates. There was also face painting competitions, and a raffle and adults satisfied their appetites with mulled wine and mince pies.
Organiser Mazine Winby said: "The festive atmosphere at the bonanza is a special, enjoyable and unique occasion for Shipham, it was wonderful."
Proceeds from the event will go towards the preschool, which is a registered charity, and Avalon School, a centre in Street for children with learning disabilities.
