Weston Rugby Club player George Sparks has been nominated for Amateur Player of the Year award at September’s National Rugby Awards.
Weston Rugby Club player George Sparks has been given a glowing endorsement by England flanker Chris Robshaw after being nominated for Amateur Player of the Year award at September’s National Rugby Awards.
The former club captain made his first team debut in 2003 and has gone on to amass 257 appearances for the club, as well as helping to coach the next generation of Weston stars.
Sparks will be getting his moment in the spotlight, after he was nominated for the award in a shortlist of six, alongside nominees from Old Grovians, Scunthorpe, Plymouth Argaum, Wimbledon and East Grinstead rugby clubs.
