Winscombe were beaten by 142 runs at Temple Cloud.

WINSCOMBE travelled to Temple Cloud on a sunny blustery day and were well beaten by 142 runs.

Temple Cloud won an important toss on a flat pitch with a quick outfield and their openers cashed in, putting on 114 in quick time. Only the introduction of the excellent Lunn (1-44) stemmed the flow of runs, but Winscombe were not able to make enough inroads, despite wickets for Peters, Goodrum and Cureton. Winscombe persevered, but 304-5 was an imposing total.

In reply, Winscombe looked for quick runs earlyon, but batsmen perished in the process with wickets falling regularly as Winscombe descended to 50-6. Goodrum (15) joined Shephard to add 53 and Coe followed suit with 27 not out, but after Shephard fell for 94, Winscombe were all out for 162.

They will hope bounce back from the 142 run defeat at home to Watchet on Saturday.
