Hornets skittle team defeated the Renegades in the final of the Weston Central League Front Pin cup.
HORNETS returned from their warm weather training weekend in Puerto Banus to clinch the Weston Central Skittles League Division 2 Front Pin trophy, beating the Renagades by six pins at the Conservative Club.
The club were formed in 1970 and made up of playing members of the rugby team at the time. They acquired a skittle alley from the Plough Inn, Regent Street, now part of Marks & Spencers shop, which was installed into the old clubhouse at Hutton Moor by the members themselves
The side now mainly consists of former players, although there is a sprinkling of current rugby players, with skittlers ages ranging from 18 to 70. The skittle team is very much part of the rugby club, providing a social sporting activity for many who can no longer participate on the rugby field.
