Weston Swimming Club has enjoyed success at this year’s Somerset County Championships held at Millfield.
WITH the final weekend of this year’s Somerset County Championships at Millfield approaching, Weston Swimming Club is still in full flow during training, mastering the necessary skills to ensure that the quality and quantity of personal best swims continues.
However, the relays are now complete, with Weston swimmers winning medals in the 12 and under girls medley (bronze), 12 and under boys medley (gold) and freestyle (bronze), 13/14 girls freestyle (bronze), mixed 14 and under medley (bronze), 16 and under girls freestyle (silver), and medley (silver), open ladies’ freestyle (bronze).
These results are even more impressive than on first glance, when you take into account that at the national inter-county gala in October, Somerset finished second (behind Lancashire), demonstrating the strength of competition within the county.
