Burnham defeated visitors Barton Hill and were in the lead for the whole of the match.

FOLLOWING last week’s shoots of recovery, Burnham produced signs of fruition and for the first time this season they did not fall behind at any stage.
Burnham took the lead after three minutes as Barton Hill were caught offside, only to return the compliment soon after. Burnham took the lead again when they were awarded a penalty inside their own 22. Good work by Sam Lewis, Tim Piper and Matt Love set up Jordan Paul to score under the posts, with Piper converting.
Shortly before half-time, Barton Hill reduced the deficit after Burnham were penalised at the scrum. Not to be denied, Piper dashed to the line and converted for a 17-6 lead.
Barton Hill started the second half in determined mood and scored a try, but Burnham replied with a debut first team try for Sam Wall. Tom Chaffey extended the lead to 27-11 with a fine try.
Straight from the kick-off, Burnham set up three competent phases allowing Alan Wheller to set up Paul for his second try. Piper converted for a 34-11 final score.
On Saturday, Burnham are away to high-flying Bristol Harlequins (3pm).

THE seconds were outgunned at Wiveliscombe, with many playing out of position.
Matt Mitchell organised the two division to get the best service and it showed as good carries from Koz, Sam Viggers, Will Conway, Mason Shaw and Tim James exposed weaknesses in the Wivvy defence.
Regular ball was recycled from the scrum and the dominance in the air of J Osgood and Chris Jones was commendable.
As the game went on, injuries hit in and the scrums became uncontested and Burnham ended with two loan players from the home side.
