Worle Rangers registered their seventh successive victory with a 3-2 win over Axbridge.

Axbridge Town 2

RANGERS made it seven wins on the trot with a last-gasp winner in this top of the table clash.

A whirlwind start from the visitors got them off the mark inside a minute and 2-0 up in quarter of an hour. Rangers regrouped, but were clearly shaken and the back four of Milsom, Martin Williams, Shane Quick and Brown were under constant pressure.

Rangers pulled a goal back before half-time when Tom Williams’ cross was palmed into the net by the Axbridge keeper.

After the break, good work by Williams, Dugmore and Hannam sent Nutt racing away, but was brought down in the area. Shane Quick stepped up and netted the equaliser.

Jakeman kept Rangers in it late on with a great save and with two minutes left, a long throw from Milsom was nodded home by Hannam.

Praise must go to Milsom, Martin Williams, Quick, Nutt and Hannam, but Chris Brinson was the Curry Garden man of the match.

Worle Rangers 2

Westend 1

WORLE registered another win, this time a narrow success over Westend.

Somewhat against the run of play, Rangers took the lead with a fine effort from Dale which caught the keeper off guard. Nutt and Lester worked hard in midfield, helped out by skipper Hannam.

Shortly after half-time, Rangers doubled their lead when Lester fired in a near-post corner for Hannam to convert. Pressure was added by the away team, who scored a deserved goal. Rangers brought on Liddiard and Watts from the bench and held on for victory, thanks in part from a smart Jakeman save with minutes remaining.

Credit must go to the backline and Jakeman, Dale, Lester and Hannam all playing well, but the Curry Gardens man of the Mmatch went to Nutt.

Wrington Redhill Res 7

St Georges (E-i-G) A 2

WRINGTON went into this game knowing they had to get maximum points to keep the pressure on league leaders Nailsea United.

Mick Edmunds opened the scoring on 10 minutes and Chris Vowles added Wrington’s second on the 35 minute mark. Two minutes later, Vowles double his tally to take Wrington in at half-time three up.

After the break, Wrington scored again through Tom Johnson, but within five minutes St Georges scored to make it 4-1.

Paul Faulkner and Joe Moore added goals before St Georges were awarded a penalty, which Jean Luc Rouvrais in the Wrington goal had no chance of stopping. Vowles scored his third as Wrington ran out 7-2 winners.

Wrington’s Bristol City Construction man of the match was Chris Vowles.
