St Andrews were knocked out in the last 16 of the national mixed top club competition by Moonfleet from Weymouth.

ST ANDREWS travelled to Weymouth to play Moonfleet in the last 16 of the national mixed top club competition.

Although they gave a good account of themselves, with a slightly weakened side, they went down on four of the five disciplines, while drawing the other.

St Andrews played their second county league game against Minehead and again won by 14 points to two.

The Saints then played their third county league game, this time against local rivals Woodspring and came away with a 16-0 victory.

St Andrews played a Weston Mixed League game against Victoria and maintained their unbeaten record, winning on three of the four rinks.

Commiserations go to Andrew Owens for again falling at the final hurdle, in the Champion of Champions to Clarrie Dunbar’s Andy Colebrooke, but congratulations go to Andrew and Rebecca McMillan in reaching the area final of the National Mixed Pairs.

IN the Somerset County Indoor Inter-Club League, Woodspring lost to St Andrews on all four rinks.

VICTORIA ladies played Isle of Wedmore in a single rink friendly, skipped by Sue Newman, showing the men how to win indoors with an excellent win by three shots.

In the SCIBA League, Victoria met a strong Bridgwater team with Victoria winning on just one of the rinks skipped by Malcolm Campbell, supported by Richard Hollier, John Griffiths and Phil Fisher.

Victoria played St Andrews in a four-rink mixed league game and were defeated by nine shots, but were successful in winning the rink skipped by Margaret Hillman, with Pete Wyatt and husband and wife team Mildred and Cliff Chudley.

Division 1 of the Internal League continues to see The Falcons leading, but The Thrushes and Doves remain in close touch.

Although The Wagtails are still heading Division 2, The Avocets and Eagles have both hit a rich vein of form to compete for the leadership.

In the Triples League, Team Bravo have narrowed the gap on Team Charlie to just three points.
