Weston Town Under-11s defeated league leaders Priory Pumas in a shock result.

WESTON Town Under-11s produced the shock of the season with a fantastic victory over league leaders Priory Pumas.

A closely-contested first-half saw Priory have more possession, but Weston worked tirelessly with Manaton outstanding in defence. A quickly taken goal kick by Chamberlain was collected brilliantly by Marshall and his effort was saved by the Worle keeper.

Marshall was unlucky when put through by Large to see his effort saved. Priory hit back with a couple of excellent counter attacks, but were denied by the excellent Chamberlain in goal.

Weston took a deserved lead when Manaton produced a wonderful free kick that deceived the keeper midway through the first half.

The second half saw Ethan round off a fine hat-trick when the keeper flapped at a cross leaving an easy finish. Bradley was unlucky to see a header come off the woodwork, and then Lewis turned in a cross after some good work from Ben.

Long Ashton never gave up and scored right at the end to make it 4-2. Man of the match went to Tom.

The Under 11s looked to extend their unbeaten run, but found themselves up against high-flying Nailsea United, who quickly went two goals up with some slick passing and good finishing.

Ben, Snedds and Ethan all had good chances but some lacklustre finishing and a string of excellent saves from Harry ensured it stayed 2-0 at the break.

Harry was kept busy until the end and some more determined defending from Tom and Charlie in particular, helped keep it respectable, until Nailsea struck a good third from longrange.
