The Somerset Rebels get underway with a visit by the Plymouth Devils.

ALTHOUGH the weather put paid to last Friday’s track practice session for the 2013 Cases Somerset Rebels, the real action gets underway on Good Friday when local West Country rivals, the Plymouth Devils, visit the Oaktree Arena for the first leg of a challenge match between the two sides.

The encounter will mark the Somerset debut for three of their septet, Australian’s Josh Grajczonek and Nick Morris, who was a member of the Scunthorpe team that narrowly defeated Somerset in last year’s play-off final, together with British Under-19 champion, Stefan Nielsen, who will line up in one of the two reserve berths.

The four returnees, captain Jason Doyle, Alex Davies, Kyle Newman and Tom Perry will all be looking to avenge last season’s agonising single point defeat at the hands of Scunthorpe in the championship final.
