Lympsham Airways defeated Swingers in the final of the Weston Proper Job Midweek League Stevenson Memorial Cup final.
LYMPSHAM Airways carried off the Weston Proper Job Midweek League Stevenson Memorial Cup final in a low-scoring match against Swingers.
Jason Parsons (16), and Jamie Howson (25), put on 31 for the first wicket, but thereafter Lympsham were unable to increase the scoring rate as both Matt Cornish, (2-27) and Brad Ashfield (2-19), utilised the damp conditions well and the innings closed on 83-6.
The Swingers reply started badly with a flurry of early wickets. Simon Pilgrim bowl well to return figures of 1-13 off five overs.
Joe Gadd was joined by Cornish who put impetus into the innings with a quick 20, including two majestic sixes, before being well caught on the boundary by Jason Parsons off the bowling of Sophie Luff.
Once Gadd was out for 20, wickets began tumbling with Jack Luff (3-21) and man of the match Sophie Luff (3-15), wrapped things up as the Swingers were all out for 65 to give Lympsham victory by 18 runs.
The league would like to thank Weston groundsman John Lawrence for his help in getting the pitch ready and both teams for a well-contested and sporting final.
In Division 1, Simon Green made 78 as the Strollers totalled 138-5 against East Huntspill, who could only manage 107-8 in reply.
