Cheddar Tennis Club held an LTA open tournament during half-term.

OVER 50 boys from around the west country took part in an LTA open tournament at Cheddar Tennis Club during half-term.

Seven separate events were run with boys competing at Under-12, 14 and 16 levels. Several home based players entered, but the most successful local entrants were Kieran Davies from Weare, who won the Under-16 event and Daniel Money from Bristol, who was runner-up in both the top Under-14 and Under-16 age groups.

The club is running match plays and singles boxes throughout the winter just for junior members. In addition, there is group coaching for all ability levels and ages from four years old to 17.

For adults there is weekly social tennis and league matches, as well as coaching courses for rusty returners and improvers.
