WESTON lock Andrew Richards is relocating to Doncaster and played his final match against Bridgwater on January 15.
He was due to end his Weston career against Newton Abbot last Saturday, but the match was postponed.
Bristol-born Richards was educated at Churchill School and whilst there played for the South West Schools 18 group.
His club career started at Yatton RFC and during a spell at Bristol he won three caps as a flanker for England Under-19s.
He joined the Seasiders in September 2002, making his debut at North Walsham as a replacement. His first full appearance followed two weeks later at Blackheath.
The 26-year-old was elected Weston’s player of the year at the end of seasons 2003/4 and 2009/10 and has scored 24 tries in his 180 appearances.
Weston will retain his registration for the time being but his consistent performances will be sorely missed.
