UPHILL Badminton Club had just one match this week, which was their A team against their B team.
The A team of Paul Edwards, Becky Matthews, Mark Edwards, Nicky Mills, Matt Cole and Christy Langford all played well and never let any rubber go beyond straight games.
However, the B team of Ruth Harding, Wai Cheung, Steph Hadley, Brian Hadley, Kirby Ngan and Rob Morray all produced some good badminton and there were a number of competitve games in the match and many lengthy rallies.
The match may well have produced a first for the North Somerset League with 12-year-old Kirby playing, possibly the youngest player to do so in Division 1, and on this performance it is just a matter of time before she moves on to bigger and better things.
The victory gives the A team a perfect record at the halfway stage of the season, having won their first five matches by 9-0 and now sit at the top of the league with 55 points.
Captain Nicky Mills is the only team member to have not even lost a single game yet this season.
They are now in a great position to win their seventh consecutive Division 1 title.
