YATTON continued their revival with another impressive win over St Mary’s OB.

With local MP, Dr Liam Fox, Secretary of State for Defence and Mr Willie Wildash, senior vice-president of the RFU in attendance, Yatton celebrated receiving the Whole Club Seal of Approval with some slick handling and passing throughout the first half.

Tries from Chris Edwards, Russ Hancock, Jon Shorney and Mike Harris enabled Yatton to reach half-time 32-0 up.

Yatton continued their domination in the second period and an early try in the corner by Chris Edwards set the home side up for an entertaining half.

Further tries by Russ Hancock, Chris Harris and Nick Spellissy, along with assured kicking by fly-half Jon Shorney and penetrating bursts from full-back John Bale and Bill Osbourne respectively, allowed the home side to romp to a 51-7 victory over a poor St Mary’s side, whose consolation try came from full-back Chris Liptrot.

Yatton travel to Stroud in the Tribute Western Counties North League on Saturday. The Seconds are home to Walcot and the Thirds entertain Clevedon.

Yatton’s travelling 3rd XV were on the scoreboard within the first five minutes and ran in nine tries during the afternoon.

The two Christophers, French and Riddick touched down first, followed by Mike Plimmer and Adam Noble, while Stuart Braine grabbed a brace and Gareth Harry topped that with an impressive hat-trick.
