UPHILL had only one league match this week and that was at home against top of the men's division Winscombe.

This was an enjoyable hard fought match that finished with honours even at three rubbers each. All the games and rubbers were close with three of the six rubbers going to three games. The two youngest members of the Uphill team, Matt Potts and Robin Curry acquitted themselves well, both winning two of their three rubbers with support from Steve Emerson and captain Bill Ponting.

The Uphill juniors top section were in festive mood as, following their evening out at the Pizza Hut and ten-pin bowling, they held their end of month tournament.

Sixteen players competed in two groups of eight with all the players in a group playing against each other. All the games were hotly contended and the spectators were treated to some long and excellent rallies. At the end of the tournament, the winner of the first group was Andrew Potts (77 points), second was Matthew Potts (75) and third was Grant Kelly (68). In the second group Callum Grayson won with 77, second was Rachel Harding (71) and third was Joe Smith (63.
